The MediaWiki Compatibility Tester is a free plugin for MediaWiki that allows us to determine whether or not you can run a certain plugin on your MediaWiki installation. You MUST have this on your MediaWiki installation prior to purchasing a plugin. This allows tech support staff to diagnose problems and of course, it allows you to know of potential problems with your plugin that you are purchasing.

Downloading the MediaWiki Compatibility Tester

To download it, please visit http://buddhasm.com/downloads/ and click "MediaWiki Compatibility Tester". You will need to have a Buddhasm account in order to use this program.

Initializing the MediaWiki Compatibility Tester

  • Once you are finished installing, please visit Special:MWCT on your Wiki.
  • On this page, input your Buddhasm Username on this plugin. Once you submit this, you will be given a unique code to input into your Buddhasm Account. You have 30 minutes to put this into your account. Click the Continue to Buddhasm button to do it immediately.
  • The Buddhasm Account Manager will read "Do you want to add http://samplemediawikiinstall.ext/ to your account?". You will click yes and a PCP encryption key will exist between the website and Buddhasm.

Great, Now What?

Purchasing a MediaWiki Plugin will run the tester automatically. Three pre-screening outcomes are generally returned:

  • PASS - You can proceed to purchasing without issue.
  • PROVISIONAL PASS - You will be given the option to post the results as a support ticket and you will be told specific info on how to install the plugin or will be cleared.
  • FAIL - The reasons for a fail are listed and you will be told how to correct this prior to purchasing.
